Appalachian Regional Reforestation Initiative
is a coalition of groups, including citizens, the coal industry, and government dedicated to restoring forests on coal mined lands in the Eastern United States.
Are you interested in attending an ARRI tree planting event this spring? Events will be taking place across western Maryland, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, southwestern Virginia, Kentucky, Ohio, and West Virginia.

2023 Konnarock Trail Crew Season
Konnarock is the Appalachian Trail Conservancy’s flagship crew program, founded in 1983 and named after its original base camp in southwest Virginia. The crew works on the Appalachian Trail from Rockfish Gap, near Waynesboro, Virginia, to the Trail’s southern terminus at Springer Mountain in Georgia.

Renew the New holds two clean-up efforts per year. In Spring is “Ramps ‘N’ Roads”, focusing on removal of debris and trash along the sides of the roads and the boat ramps. In the Fall is “Fall Into the New”, focusing on the river and tributary banks, the river bed, boat landings and bridge abutments.
